The South Fork Wind Farm will interconnect into eastern Long Island where is will deliver power to households under a long-term power purchase agreement with the Long Island Power Authority. This wind farm will be the largest source of renewable energy on Long Island, which will help the towns of East Hampton and Southampton meet their 100% renewable energy goals and New York State achieve its ambitious clean energy mandate.This NYSDOT Highway Work Permit project involves the trenching across the intersection of NY Route 27 (Montauk Highway) at Wainscott Northwest Road. The project includes trenching, full depth asphalt repair, composite pavement repair, and striping. The work is being done to install underground cables to connect the new wind farm off-shore substation to the existing substation in East Hampton.
