Stony Brook University Parking Master Plan

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project involved the preparation of a Parking Study Plan for Stony Brook University. Occupancy counts were taken to model the current parking demand with three [3] counts taken daily during high-volume days at each campus.


Recommendations were made to existing way-finding on-campus related to additional signage and/or modifications. A review of existing surface parking locations to identify opportunities for greater efficiency through restriping of lots and/or creation of additional spaces with the goal of maximizing parking inventory.


In addition, general recommendations regarding pedestrian traffic patterns from campus parking facilities with the goal of increasing pedestrian safety and identifying opportunities for reduction of vehicular/pedestrian conflict.
