The project includes pavement evaluation and review of crash records to identify surface related deficiencies. The Traffic Engineering project requirements include safety and mobility evaluation of the intersection of Wantagh Avenue at Old Jerusalem Road and Gregg Court and surrounding roadways and intersections in Levitown to develop geometric and operational alternatives to improve pedestrian and vehicular safety at the intersection.

The project area includes Wantagh Avenue from Hempstead Turnpike [SR24] to Park Avenue [approx. 3.7 miles] in the Hamlets of Wantagh/Levitown and includes areas of residential, commercial, religious, educational, and fire department facilities.
